SOSAME A prototype method of diagnosis, documentation and demonstration -analysis of rescue excavations
The SOSAME project implemented in the framework of Special Actions "Aquaculture" - "Industrial Materials" - "Open Innovation in Culture" and co-funded by the European Union and national resources through the Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program aims at the development of an innovative methodology for the diagnosis, documentation, and excavation of rescue excavations.
It includes a demonstrative installation at the Archaeological Museum of Chalkida "Arethusa", which allows the public to participate in virtual rescue excavations and explore inaccessible archaeological sites. The project also addresses the challenges of limited time, fragmentary data, and subjective assessments in rescue excavations. Overall, SOSAME enhances the tools of the scientific community and provides immersive experiences for both researchers and the public.
